报告题目：Recent Progress in Effective Field Theory Approach to Lepton Number Violation
报告摘要：Report recent progress in effective field theories (EFTs) and low energy phenomenology relevant to lepton number violation (LNV) by focusing on the part of contributions that Professor Yi Liao’s group has made during the past few years. Start with a brief review on the current experimental bounds on LNV decays, and introduce the basic ideas of EFT. Then describe the current status of the two EFTs that are most relevant to new physics studies, i.e., the standard model effective field theory and the low energy effective field theory. As phenomenological applications, discuss the LNV charged kaon decays that have been computed completely in the framework of EFT and the LNV neutrino-photon scattering that is generally enhanced over the similar standard model processes. The report will be finished with a brief summary and outlook.
